Indian Festival Season is almost here. October witnesses the important festivals of the country including Navratri, Dusshera and Diwali. Amazon is launching its largest annual festive sale on October 10 which is the same day when Flipkart is bringing its Big Billion Days event. Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale
Amazon Sale will run from October 10 at 12am IST to October 15 11.59pm IST. Following its tradition, Amazon is going to offer hot deals and discounts on smartphones, TVs, home and kitchen products as well as large appliances. The focus will also be on fashion products and consumables including grocery and beauty. Prime members are going to enjoy early access to the deals.
Flipkart Big Billion Days
Just like Amazon Prime members, Flipkart Plus members will have an exclusive early access to the sale from October 10 to October 14. They will be able to access deals three hours prior to the sale. The five days of the sale are segregated into various categories:
- The first day focuses on offers on fashion, TVs, appliances, smart devices and other products.
- The second day will include deals on smartphones, tablets, audio devices, mobile accessories, gaming related items and other electronic products.
- The last three days will unlock offers across all product categories.
In addition, Flipkart will also host flash sales every hour and will add new deals after every eight hours.
New Launches
Amazon is releasing new Echo models in the country during the sale period. These include Echo Dot, Echo Plus and Echo Sub. These are available for pre-order and will go on sale on October 11 while Echo Sub will ship in November. Flipkart has a new partner, Myntra, this year for personalized fashion shopping.
Fight over Payment Options
On Flipkart, HDFC Bank debit and credit card users will get access bundled payment offers. It is also offering no-cost EMIs on select cards along with Bajaj Finserv EMI cards. PhonePe users will also get cashback offers of 10%. Flipkart is also offering cardless credit of up to ₹60,000/- to the customers which one can pay back in easy installments. The Flipkart Pay Later method also lets them make the purchase now and pay for it next month.
Amazon has already started preparing for its mega sale. It is offering ₹300/- in the form of cashback to those who top-up their Amazon Pay balance with ₹3,000/-. In addition, SBI debit and credit card holders will get 10% instant discount during the six days of sale. Amazon is offering no-cost EMI options from several banks such as Bajaj Finserv and EMIs from Axis, ICICI and HDFC card holders.

The tagline for Amazon Great Indian Festival is “Now budget won’t limit India’s celebration” while Flipkart Big Billon Days Sale comes with, “Ab India Hoga Budget Se Mukt” Amazon launched its instant credit facility offering credit up to ₹60,000/- to its customers and Flipkart also announced its own credit facility with similar terms. The e-commerce giant, Flipkart, has partnered with celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Virat Kohli to promote its festive sale.
