Apple has unveiled the second-generation AirTag, a smart tag designed to improve precision, tracking accuracy, and overall usability. With upgraded features and smarter location tracking, here’s everything you need to know about it.:
Design and Look
This second-generation AirTag smart tag features an updated internal design and has a new speaker which is 50 percent louder than the first-generation AirTag. It is IP67 rated for dust and splash resistance. It is visibly thinner than original model. The battery connectors are positioned at a different angle and has additional test pads. In terms of design, it looks exactly like the first-generation model including white plastic exterior and shiny aluminium backplate.

Connectivity and Compatibility
This Bluetooth tracker has a new Ultra Wideband chip and provides a higher Precision Finding range by up to 50 percent in comparison to the original AirTag. It is capable of locating items more accurately. This Bluetooth chip has been upgraded to expand the overall connectivity range.
This new AirTag also works with iPhone’s Share Item Location feature. This helps users to recover a misplaced item. It works by temporarily sharing location with trusted third parties. It has also been made clear that the location data is kept private and AirTag does not physically store location data.

Battery Life
The new AirTag is powered by CR2032 coin cell battery and it offers more than a year of battery life. It uses an identifiable chime to be heard easier in noisy environments.

The price for Apple AirTag 2 has been set at ₹3,790/- for a single unit and ₹12,900/- for four-unit pack. When purchasing via Apple Store or Apple.com, you can also avail free engraving.
