Samsung has announced the successor to the successful fitness tracker, Gear Fit. The new Samsung Gear Fit 2 comes with improved set of features that make it more than just a fitness tracker. It comes with the ability to work independently without the need to constantly link to the smartphone. Let’s check out its features:
Display and Processor
The Samsung Gear Fit 2 sports a 1.5-inch Super AMOLED display. It is significantly better designed as compared to its predecessor. The fitness wearable is powered by 1.0GHz dual-core SoC coupled with 512MB of RAM. It features 4GB of onboard storage as well. It comes with IP68 certification which implies that it can water immersed for up to 30 meters deep. Gear Fit 2 is powered by 200mAh battery.
This GPS sports band is capable of accurately tracking the usual activities of the user. It uses a combination of sensors such as standalone GPS and heart rate monitor. You can track and monitor different activities such as exercise, step machine, treadmill and more. It syncs with various health app including Samsung’s own S Health app.

Samsung has now started accepting pre-orders for the Gear Fit 2 on the official US web store at the price of $179.99. The product will start shipping in 7-10 business days. It will be available in three different colors to choose from: blue, black and pink.
