Samsung first teased foldable phone back in November and now, the company has now revealed more about this unique smartphone. The company is planning to launch Galaxy Fold on April 26th, starting at $1980. Let’s check out the details:
Samsung Galaxy Fold comes with two separate screens one with 7.3-inch Infinity Flex AMOLED screen and the other with 4.6-inch AMOLED secondary display. When you hold the device, the larger screen is revealed and you will be using the device closer to a tablet. The portable design is the highlight of the device and makes it outstand from other tablets available.
The smaller 4.6-inch screen features resolution of 840 * 1960 pixels and aspect ratio of 21:9. The larger screen comes with resolution of 1536 * 2152 pixels. Both screens have pixel density of 420 dpi. According to the company, the device has been tested to withstand 200000 folds. This equates to around five years of usage with about 100 folds each day.
Under the hood, Samsung foldable phone is backed by 7nm 64-bit octa core processor. It is juiced by 4380mAh battery and also supports wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare, which implies that you can use the Fold to charge another device as well.
At the rear of the device, there’s a triple camera system that will be used on both phone and tablet modes. There’s a 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera, in addition to 12-megapixel wide-angle and telephoto cameras at the rear. At the front, it has a 10-megapixel cover camera for selfies and video calling.
