With Chrome 69, the tabs are now rounded at the top left and right instead of sharp and angular corners. Also, the other tabs lose their outline and thus, the current page you are viewing is emphasized. The other tabs get visually separated with a short line. This visual appearance changes are going to be noticed by every Chrome user. Then, the new tab “plus” icon which is used to add a new tab moves to the extreme left.

The address bar has got a pill-shaped design with rounded corners left and right. The menu features have also got rounded corners. Now, the drop down of search suggestions and URLs don’t cover the full page width.

Chrome 69 brings decent number of changes to the Android version as well. Though many changes like rounded corners are already present, the status bar is now stark white to offer a clean look. The New Tab page is completely revamped with pill-shaped search bar and rounded corners.

Flash Usage

When a user enables Flash for a particular website, it eliminates the need to approve every time he visits again. But, this is not going to be the case in Chrome 69. The newer version requires user to give permission to use flash when they restart Chrome.

For Chromebooks

Night Light on Chromebooks will be enabled to reduce eye strain. One can present sunrise/sunset schedule or can also customize their daily schedule and color temperature. Chrome 69 also offers dictation as a separate accessibility feature. One can click a new button in status field to start dictating or press Search + D to use voice for inputting text.

Blocking Third-Party Software

The third-party code is now blocked by default in Chrome 69. Google is working on a new security feature to block such codes with new ThirdPartyBlockingEnabled policy.

Password Reuse

Chrome 69 goes a step forward towards password protections in Google and non-Google corporate accounts with Password Alert plug-in.  In case, enterprise users use their password at such websites that aren’t whitelisted by IT, they need to reset it.

New Reporting Tool

Google has come up with a new reporting tool to help IT team in gaining insight into the browser and policy compliance. The data is stored in a local file on disk in JSON format to let IT integrate with on-premise reporting and analytic tools.
