Garmin has refreshed its watch series and there’s something for everyone from running newbie to athletes. The new Forerunner series include: Forerunner 45, Forerunner 45S, Forerunner 245, Forerunner 245 Music and Forerunner 945. The smartwatches price range falls from $199.99 to $599.99.
Features of new Forerunner Series
These new smartwatches are lightweight and feature an always-on display which is sunlight readable as well. The key features include all-day activity tracking, wrist-based heart rate monitoring, smart notifications and GPS. The new safety and tracking features let you share their real-time location with selected contacts for any emergency help.
Forerunner 45 and Forerunner 45S
These two smartwatches are targeted at beginners and they come with heart rate monitor. They are capable of monitoring daily steps, distance traveled, calories burned and sleep tracking. It records cycling workouts as well. Both activity trackers come with all-day stress monitoring and Body Battery energy monitoring.
Forerunner 245 and Forerunner 245 Music
They come with additional monitoring tools such as VO2 max and training status. You can add Running Dynamics Pod or compatible heart rate strap for additional dynamics. They also include wrist-based Pulse Ox sensor4 to gauge how oxygen is being absorbed. The Forerunner 245 Music is capable of holding up to 500 songs and lets users sync playlists from preloaded music streaming services. One can also transfer music from computer.
This is the premium smartwatch of the lot and comes with all features you expect from a smartwatch. It can also hold up to 1000 songs. The smartwatch offers support for Garmin Pay contactless payment solution and includes various performance monitoring tools. It is also capable of monitoring skiing, golfing and hiking.
